Welcome to Thompson Italian!

Our family restaurants are a labor of love, created for sharing delicious food and great conversations. Our journey began in 2007 at Dell’anima restaurant in NYC, where we honed our skills at top establishments like Per Se and Le Bernardin. We later became chef-owners of L’Artusi, Anfora, and L’Apicio and co-authored the cookbook “Downtown Italian.”

In 2019, we opened our first Thompson Italian location in Falls Church, establishing roots in our community by connecting with local farmers and serving our cherished regulars. We’re excited to announce our second location in Alexandria, featuring favorites like our garlic bread, meatballs, and olive oil cake, along with handmade pastas and fresh seafood. Thompson Italian is a casual spot where anyone can stop in for a great meal and a glass of wine without fuss and pretense. We’ll make sure you can get delicious food and a fun night out with the family in one place, so bring the kids!
