The Village Preservation and Improvement Society (VPIS) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded in 1885.  This active nonprofit citizen volunteer organization is dedicated to significantly enhancing the City of Falls Church. Through the preservation of the natural and built environment, historic structures, and landmarks, as well as by actively promoting cultural activities, VPIS makes a tangible impact. The organization’s high community involvement extends to supporting various impactful events and programs. Additionally, VPIS provides essential grants for key projects within the city, such as the tree identification program and the rejuvenation of Cherry Hill Park with native plants.
