The Vietnamese Literary and Artistic Club (VLAC) of the Washington DC metropolitan area is a non-profit organization founded by a group of writers and artists in 2000. VLAC embraces all writers and artists and everyone who not only loves arts but have an appreciation and would like to contribute by either volunteering their time or donate.

VLAC’s mission is to preserve and promote our unique heritage and culture. To accomplish our mission, VLAC created the Vietnamese Culture Center (VCC) in the Washington DC area to be place of gathering for the Vietnamese-American community and participates in cultural activities, such as:
- Organizes art shows for Painting and Photography, lectures on Arts and Literature, musical shows for Dances and Songs.
- Publishes members’ literary works as well as famous writings from non-member authors.
- Publishes the monthly magazine KY NGUYEN MOI (New Era) – showcasing long stories, short stories, poems and songs.   To keep up the the time, VLAC also maintains the Web site www.VNLAC.org to disseminate news on literature and arts, information on the Vietnamese community life in the Washington DC area.
