A Glimpse into the Past
“Big Chimneys,” named for its two towering brick chimneys, is believed to have been the first permanent structure built on land that is now Falls Church. The date 1699, inscribed on a stone in one chimney, marks the year the original structure was built—and the year from which Falls Church traces its beginnings.
